Will my tile get torn up when the old door comes out?
That is the part we are most careful with. The old frame is anchored into the tile, so it comes out slowly and the old silicone gets cut rather than pulled. Where the new enclosure lands over the same anchor points, it covers the old work. Our crew removes enclosures constantly, which is a very different thing from prying one off for the first time.
Can I change the style, or do I have to match what is there?
You can change it. The opening sets the size, not the look. A framed slider can come back as a frameless panel with a swing door, or as a semi frameless setup if you want less hardware without going all the way. Hardware finish is open too.
